We are happy to announce that earlier today our newbuild vessel m.v. Bloemgracht was launched from dry dock at Mawei shipyard in Fuzhou, China.
The vessel has moved to the outfitting quay – close to sister vessel m.v. Brouwersgracht – where the building process will continue. Sister vessel m.v. Brouwersgracht is a step ahead and will be heading for her sea trials soon.
M.v. Brouwersgracht and m.v. Bloemgracht combine the intake of a multi-purpose vessel with a DP2, station-keeping ability of up to Bft 6, making them ideal for supplying large volumes and heavy cargoes directly offshore. To obtain the fast, safe and efficient loading and discharge of pipes, both on and offshore, the vessels have a removable, automated, pipe-handling gantry crane installed.
Equipped with two Huisman 500 mt Heavy Lift Mast cranes, the vessels are very suitable for both heavy lift transportation and offshore installation. To fit in with Spliethoff’s continuous drive for greener operations, the vessels’ design is fuel-efficient and the propulsion and power generation systems are equipped with scrubbers and SCR systems.
With 12,500 mt deadweight, an open top notation, two tween deck levels and 5,900 m2 of total deck space, the intake of a general cargo vessel and the station-keeping capabilities of a supply vessel are combined in an unrivalled ship – Spliethoff’ s DP2 B-Type.
Both vessels are on schedule for their first commitments.
